ALTIVELO was founded by James Mitri — a former UCI ProTour professional cyclist who competed for seven seasons at the highest level of the sport, representing New Zealand at Milan–San Remo, Il Lombardia, and the UCI Road World Championships.

After founding and directing Global 6 professional cycling team from 2020, James created ALTIVELO to bring the professional framework of elite cycling to a small number of private clients — without the compromise of a group tour model.

Every engagement is structured personally by James. There is no team behind the service. No junior guides, no associates. When you ride with ALTIVELO, you ride with James.

Milan – San Remo
One of cycling's five monuments. La Classicissima — 300km of racing from the Italian plains to the Ligurian coast. James represented New Zealand in the professional peloton on this legendary road.
Il Lombardia
The Race of the Falling Leaves. A monument known for its brutal climbs through the Italian lakes region. Riding Il Lombardia at the professional level requires a particular kind of strength and intelligence.
UCI Road World Championships
National colours. The world's most prestigious one-day event. Representing New Zealand at the UCI Road World Championships is the highest honour in professional road cycling.
Global 6 Racing
After retiring from professional competition, James founded Global 6 Racing — a professional continental cycling team that he directed for several seasons, deepening his understanding of what it takes to build a performance environment.

James participated in some of the world's most demanding professional events including monuments and world championships.
Mallorca Expertise
James has spent years training and racing on Mallorca's roads. He knows the climbs, the conditions, the cafes, and the rhythm of the island at a depth no commercial operation can match.

A private engagement with James is not a guided tour. It is a day on the road structured entirely around you — your objectives, your ability, and the kind of riding you are genuinely capable of.

Before each engagement, James will speak with you personally to understand what you want from the day. Route selection, pacing strategy, climb approach, and logistics are all built around that conversation.

On the road, James rides with you — not ahead of you, not behind you. He observes your effort, adjusts the pace, and provides the kind of technical insight that is only available to someone who has spent years competing at the highest level of the sport.
